Police are warning residents about potential door-to-door scams in Grand Rapids.
The Grand Rapids Police Department say they have received multiple calls about recent door-to-door solicitations where solicitors have entered their yards without permission and have been seen taking photos of homes. Officers want to make sure residents are aware of these kinds of scams, which include bogus contractor repairs, home and security inspections and pest and yard services.
Ways that are recommended to avoid such scams, are by asking the solicitor to see their active city business license or ID, or by simply telling them to leave any contracts or documents with you to review them later.
