Man in custody after claiming to have bomb at White House checkpoint

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Secret Service is investigating after a man allegedly arrived at a White House security checkpoint late Saturday claiming to have a bomb.

CNN reports that there was no confirmation a device was in the vehicle, but security was immediately upgraded.  Streets around the White House were closed off as an investigation continues.

President Trump was not at the White House at the time as he's spending the weekend at his Florida estate. A man was detained earlier in the day after reportedly jumping a metal barrier outside a perimeter fence.
