A Meeting Of Champions

Players hoping to win the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give this year will have to face all three previous champions. The supermarket giant announced inaugural winner Mirim Lee, second year winner Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Sei Young Kim have all committed to play in this year's event June 15-18 at Blythefield Country Club.Lee is No. 14 in the Rolex rankings and has three wins in her career and 18 top 10s. She started on the LPGA Tour in 2014. Kim started on the tour in 2015 and has accrued five wins and 22 top 10s and is ranked No. 11.Thompson started her career in the LPGA in 2012 and has seven wins so far. She is ranked No. 5 and has 45 career top 10s.Morgan Pressel and Paula Creamer were the first two players to announce their plans to return again this year.Creamer has 12 career wins, 10 of which are on the LPGA Tour, and is a five-time member of the U.S. Solheim Cup team.Pressel has two LPGA wins and is also a five-time Solheim Cup team member. She began playing golf at age 8 made the tour at 17.The event will feature 144 of the best women golfers in the world in 72 holes of stroke play over the course of four days.All proceeds from the tournament and the accompanying festivities benefit the Meijer Simply Give program that helps stock shelves of food pantries across the Midwest.
