Deputies: BC man caught trying to get rid of meth lab

PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Investigators say one of two  people arrested during a drug bust was caught pouring ingredients to  make methamphetamine down a bathroom drain.

Around 3 a.m. Monday,  investigators were tipped off to a meth lab in the 900 block of Capital  Avenue NE in Pennfield Township, northeast of Battle Creek.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s office says during a search of the home, they found an active meth lab.

Although  a 44-year-old Battle Creek man was caught trying to get rid of the  evidence, deputies say they recovered the lab and a large amount of meth  waste.

The man was arrested and remains in jail on unrelated  charges. A 41-year-old Battle Creek woman was also arrested on unrelated  charges.

Authorities are withholding their names until they’re formally charged in the case.

The investigation is ongoing.
