Road Warrior: You can choose your attitude

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (via WOOD TV) — Every year, a team of Road Warriors are selected from the community to train together, raise money for charity partners and represent the Amway River Bank Run.

The group is made up of all women this year. This week, 24 Hour News 8 will introduce a few of them.

Paige Boldt has trained with some of West Michigan's best runners and has been among the greatest runners in the area.

She had high hopes for herself for this year's run, but injuries will keep her sidelined.

"Each day, I see progress with my injury," Boldt said.

During her sophomore year of high school, she wanted to take some extra math classes to prepare for a physician's assistant career. She took up running thinking it would be less of a time commitment.

"I was pretty athletic when I was younger. I played softball, volleyball, swimming, diving. I ended up running cross-country and went to states," Boldt said. “(I thought) I should stick with this running thing and ended up just loving it."
