Machete-wielding suspect injures 3 after dispute over soccer game in Bangor

BANGOR, Mich. (via WOOD TV) — Three people suffered minor injuries after two men attacked them with a machete over a dispute in a soccer game at a park Saturday evening.

Bangor Police Chief Tom Simpson said officers were dispatched to Don Mora Park on N. Center Street around 8:30 p.m. after callers alleged two men were attacking people with a machete during a soccer game. 

Simpson said after a heated argument with referees, one of the men handed the other a machete and began wielding it at the three individuals, causing minor injuries.
