Second device found in GR home, no injuries

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids Police Department says two suspicious devices were found in a home on the city’s southeast side.

The devices were found at a home on the 200 block of Highland Street SE, near Cass Avenue.

GRPD Sgt. Dan Adams says both devices have been rendered safe and no one was injured.

Police were first called 5:30 p.m. Friday after a contractor was doing work at the home and found a small, dark-colored device that looked like a “pipe bomb.”

For about an hour, police told people to avoid the area and nearby residents were asked to stay in their homes.
