Movie theaters, venues, bowling alleys may reopen Oct. 9 per Gov. Whitmer

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Under an executive order signed Friday by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, several types of businesses that have been closed for more than six months, including movie theaters, and bowling alleys may reopen Oct. 9.

According to the order, other business that can reopen include performance venues, arcades, bingo halls, indoor climbing facilities and trampoline parks.

In a statement released Friday, Governor Whitmer said, “Michigan took some of the most aggressive action against COVID-19 in the country, and as a result, the health of our families and our economy are faring better than our neighbors in other states. As a result, we are now able to reopen movie theaters and performance venues with strict safety measures in place."
