Man guilty in 2019 manslaughter of wife

A jury has convicted a Coopersville man of the 2019 shooting death of his wife.

Jaron Chatman will be sentenced on July 26 after a jury found him guilty of felony firearms and involuntary manslaughter.

On October 21, 2019, Emily Chatman was shot in the head by her husband.

She died two weeks later.

Emily had filed for a protective order against Jaron a year before the shooting, but it was denied.
