More Than 1,500 Turn Out For Mel Trotter's Thanksgiving Meal

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - More than 1,500 people turned out for the annual community Thanksgiving meal put on by Mel Trotter Ministries.

"It’s not easy. It just touched my heart to reach out, extend grace. I just believe that extending grace and mercy to individuals who are different," volunteer Shela Brown told WOOD-TV.

Cherry Health also held a coronavirus vaccine clinic at DeVos Place yesterday.

"It is part of the safety that we provide for those in our community," Beth Fisher, the chief advancement officer for Mel Trotter Ministries, said.
