No Contest Plea in Grand Haven School District Embezzlement

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. - Former Grand Haven Area Public Schools Superintendent Brian Wheeler has pleaded no contest after being charged with embezzling $100,000 or more, and using a computer to commit a crime.

Authorities believe Wheeler has stolen over $900,000 since 2014. A no contest plea is not an admission of guilt but is treated as such in the court system. In return for Wheeler’s plea, the prosecutor agreed to not ask for a consecutive sentence or file additional charges in this case.
