House fire sparked by downed power line in Kent Co.

OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - The Kent County Sheriff's Office says a downed power line, that knocked out power for hundreds in the northeast portion of the county, also sparked a fire at a house near 14 Mile Road between Lappley Avenue and Wabasis Avenue.

Authorities say the power line was knocked down during the storms that went through on Thursday in Oakfield Township, which caused the house fire.

It’s unknown if anyone was injured in the fire.
