Man sentenced for deadly post-fireworks gang shooting

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - A life prison sentence was handed down yesterday to a man who fled to Guatemala after shooting someone from a rival gang in downtown Grand Rapids four years ago.

An attorney for Raymond Barrios says his client will appeal.

Saul Espinoza was killed and a passenger in his car was wounded in the shooting near Fish Ladder Park.

The incident took place moments after the city's annual Independence Day fireworks show.
